Geeky weekend.

So yesterday the Monkeyman went to play geeky games with some old friends of his, and the kids and I stayed home. We did some fun stuff together (we planted chillis, lavender and flowers) and then I decided to design a TARDIS-related cross stitch for a friend, for whom we're putting together a box of little gifts to remind her people up North are thinking of her (she moved down South a few years ago).

Then I realised - I still hadn't finished my eldest son's Warhammer 40k cross stitch for on his bedroom door. He's a big Ultramarine fan and fields a Space Marine army (in addition to a Tau one) so quite a long time ago I began a cross stitch to hang on his bedroom door. His name is Random, and the O is the Ultramarine logo. The words "We march for Macragge and we shall know no fear" are from the Ultramarines film which came out a while back.

He asked for some gold trim to be added once it was done, which is the yellow you can see below, and now all it needs is to be ironed and put up on his bedroom door. He's pretty happy with it, and so am I, since this is my first real cross stitch and I designed it myself!

Well, this is it. A new blog for something I need to do more of: nerd crafts.

What will happen first? The TARDIS quilt? The Harry Potter cushions? The Firefly cross stitch?

Well, probably not the TARDIS quilt, because that will take forever. But watch this space - something is coming.

I am the Doctor, and I am afraid.

Of crochet.
